Pragmatic, curious, and sense-seeking

Previously, I studied cognitive science and psychology as a pre-med student in college, aspiring to help and elevate lives one day. Practicing the “question - hypothesis - experiment - conclusion” , I fell in love with sense-making. Although, after drawing numerous conclusions on paper, I always wondered "umm, now what?"

In product design, the conclusion from research doesn't mark the end anymore. Instead, it is the starting point, followed by design possibilities to make an impact. As a product designer, I get to take it one step forward — turn theoretical conclusions into tangible designs that are measurable & testable. Then, with some experimental spirit and iterations, eventually we could make the “best yet” solution come to life. And there's nothing I love more.

Embrace fail-forward testing

I advocate for an iterative process, where each user-centered iteration brings us closer to the ideal solution. Each attempt or experiment, successful or not, can be a valuable lesson forward.

Master a growth mindset

One day, it hit me — my perfectionism is not only an illusion, but it is also a cold hard rejection for self-development. As a person who get energized by learnings, and who creates in a fast-evolving tech industry, agility and a growth mindset are two of my must-haves now:)

Seek inspiration in people

I highly value intellectual discussion with mentors, stakeholders, and my designer colleagues. They challenge me with fresh and interesting perspectives and help fuel my design solutions with implementational insights.
